Macrophonics is a curated program of performance works that investigates the field of new music and media performance interfaces. Performances between 20 - 24 September, 2011

A major outcome of a multi-disciplinary collaboration with the City of Perth and Landgate (WA), the exhibition visualised the network of Perth's wetlands which existed prior to colonisation in 1827. A digital model was the centre piece of the interpretive exhibition which invited viewers to reimagine Perth. Using imagery, colonial newspapers and literature, nature writing, poetry and historical and cultural scholarship, a series of interpretive panels was designed, which depicted elements of Perth's wetland history. Nine Creative Residencies in which writers, illustrators and animators from around Australia visited the University of New England. Their residencies, which included public talks, workshops, and round-tables, provided reflection on aspects of the Creative Industries, careers therein, aspects of creative process, including the development of storytelling skills, use of innovative storytelling technology (digital animation, storytelling scrapbooking apps), the negotiation of illustrator-author-editor relationships. This program involved 9 Residents, 9 public talks, 18 workshops, 9 recorded interviews (ABC New England North-West), 1 exhibition (UNE Dixson Library, August 2016 - January 2017) and 1 article in the Conversation (September 2016).

Day-long symposium in which academics and practitioners spoke and demonstrated on the intersection of visual and verbal elements in storytelling for young readers.
