dc.description.abstract | The aim of the editorial is to share research insights in early childhood with parents, families and the community in a manner that is accessible. local.researchstatement | Research Background Much academic research does not reach parents, families and other community members who thus commonly views about important early childhood issues that are not only out-of-date but may be quite disadvantageous to childrens development and well-being. In the Family Matters editorial I take issues of interest to parents, families and community members and discuss them in accessible language to ensure that the latest research information is more easily understood. Research Contribution These articles reinterpret research in a manner that creates new understandings of both parenting and issues that impact on children in Armidale specifically, and regional areas in general. The work thus offers an innovative interpretation of extant research, with interpretations that extend understandings particularly in relation to regional areas. Research Significance The early childhood years are crucial in shaping childrens long term outcomes. The editorials are published fortnightly in the Armidale Express Extra, a free community paper so publication in this paper ensures that ALL families in Armidale have exposure to the issues discussed. | en |
